In May 2018 IBM has released the new Informix Fixpack 12.10xC11. Besides the usual bug fixes, Informix 12.10xC11 includes new features in the fields of administration and security. What can you expect? A selection as follows:
- Online schema changes - Loopback replication - xC11 provides support for zero downtime table reorganization, as well as simpler code set conversions.
- Large table reorganization - Enhancements include fragmentation strategy changes and the ability to perform slow alters.
- Dropping offline empty chunks - Database administrators can now drop offline empty chunks without having to call IBM Support.
- TEMP DBspaces - TEMP DBspaces are now as resilient during restart as TEMP SBspaces.
- UTF8 to UTF8 GLU Migration - When using a UTF8 database, newer emoji characters are no longer rejected even if they are not in the unicode BMP.

Don’t forget: in April 2018 Informix 11.50 was discontinued! From this point on there is no product support of IBM even if you have a contract. If assistance is required it is liable for costs! We suggest updating your Informix database server as soon as possible to Informix 11.70xC9 or, more suitable, straight to Informix 12.10xC11.
